Center for brain health:
The Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health brings together experts in the fields of neuroscience, neurology, and psychiatry in a hub for training, research, and clinical care.This center has an NMO clinic and research program that has just recently joined theCollaborative International Research in Clinical and Longitudinal Experience for NMO Studies (CIRCLES), a multicentre North American study that aims to create an open-access repository of data and samples for patients with NMO and control participants. These materials will be used to help researchers and caregivers to better understand NMO pathogenesis, clinical course and impact of therapy.
The Blusson Spinal Cord Centre:
The Blusson Spinal Cord Centre is a unique facility dedicated to advancing world-leading integrated research and care for people with spinal cord injury. By combining research and clinical space in the same building, investigators will be able to rapidly translate discoveries into validated clinical practices to ensure effective outcomes are achieved. The Blusson Spinal Cord Centre is home to ICORD as well Vancouver Coastal Health’s Brenda & David McLean Integrated Spine Clinic and the Rick Hansen Institute offices.
ICORD-(International Collaboration On Repair Discoveries) is an interdisciplinary research centre focused on spinal cord injury. Our researchers are dedicated to the development and translation of more effective strategies to promote prevention, functional recovery, and improved quality of life after SCI.
